Dunlop Sports & the USTA announce D-Squad Points Race to win the ‘Dunlop Cup’

February 7, 2007

GREENVILLE, SC, February 7, 2007 – Dunlop Sports Group Americas and the United States Tennis Association Southern Section today announced Dunlop’s sponsorship of the exciting D-Squad Points Race competition in the Southern Regional Bullfrog Junior Tennis Circuit, which kicked off this past weekend in Jackson, Mississippi.

Players who compete in at least four of the eight Bullfrog Tennis Tournaments being held throughout the South will garner points as they advance into and beyond the quarterfinal rounds – ranging from 3 points for reaching the quarters to 10 points for the winner.

The overall winners in the boys and girls categories will have their names engraved on the Dunlop Cup Legacy Trophy, which will be on permanent display at the USTA Southern Sections Office. Each winner will also be presented with a personal Dunlop Cup trophy to mark their accomplishment.

The top three total point finishers in each age group (12’s, 14’s, 16’s and 18’s) of boys and girls will receive a variety of premium Dunlop tennis products based on their performance in the D-Squad Points Race. These awards will include Dunlop’s acclaimed Aerogel racquets, quality tennis clothing, and a variety of Dunlop bags, grips and other peripheral products from its well received 2007 line.

“Dunlop is excited about its renewed commitment to junior tennis,” said Kai Nitsche, general manager of racquet sports. “We are extremely proud of our D-Squad team of sponsored players and see the Dunlop Cup as a way of further expanding our efforts to junior tennis overall.”

The status of all junior players involved in the D-Squad Points Race – including their results and rankings — will be available on the USTA Southern Section Web Site at www.southerntennis.comdunlopcup beginning later this week.
