Dunlop Harnesses the Power of Nature

GREENVILLE, SC — Dunlop today announced five new rackets incorporating the evolutionary design process known as Biomimetics. Biomimetics means to ‘imitate life,’ and in this case, Dunlop has taken evolutionary design aspects from the shark, bee, and gecko to design and develop its new line of tennis rackets. The new frames hit stores in mid November, but some Dunlop Tour Team members have already put them in play. Dunlop is hosting a launch event in Manhattan to introduce the Biomimetic rackets to key figures in the tennis industry, as well as media. On hand will be brand ambassador John McEnroe along with other members of the Dunlop Tour Team, including Fernando Verdasco and Nikolay Davydenko.

Here’s a breakdown of each racket:

Biomimetic 200 Plus

An ideal racket for advanced players, the 200 Plus features:

The Biomimetic 200 Plus is perfect for today’s aggressive all-court player, offering outstanding control with the added power of a 100sq. inch head. The racket is constructed with 100% premium Aerogel enhanced graphite and features Dunlop’s new Biomimetic technologies: Aeroskin to reduce aerodynamic drag, making the racket faster through the air; HM6 Carbon to enhance the racket feel, and the Gecko-Tac grip for ultimate control in all conditions. The Biomimetic 200 Plus will be Nikolay Davydenko’s racket of choice.

Biomimetic 300

Based on Dunlop’s best selling specification, the 300 features:

The 300 is the perfect racket for players looking for added power from a player oriented frame. The 16×19 string pattern provides access to excellent spin, while giving players the power they need to put the ball away. The racket is constructed with 100% premium Aerogel enhanced graphite and features Dunlop’s new Biomimetic technologies: Aeroskin to reduce aerodynamic drag, making the racket faster through the air; HM6 Carbon to enhance the racket feel, and the Gecko-Tac grip for ultimate control in all conditions. The Biomimetic 300 will be Fernando Verdasco’s racket of choice.

Biomimetic 300 Tour

The ideal racket for intermediate to advanced players, the Biomimetic 300 Tour features:

For players with long, powerful swings looking for added control, the 300 Tour is the perfect choice. The racket is constructed with 100% premium Aerogel enhanced graphite and features Dunlop’s new Biomimetic technologies: Aeroskin to reduce aerodynamic drag, making the racket faster through the air; HM6 Carbon to enhance the racket feel, and the Gecko-Tac grip for ultimate control in all conditions. The Biomimetic 300 Tour will be Jurgen Melzer’s racket of choice.

Biomimetic 600

A new racket spec for Dunlop, the Biomimetic 600 features:

The 600’s powerful frame helps beginning to intermediate players generate power. The larger headsize offers a generous sweet spot and is forgiving on off-center hits. The racket is constructed with 100% premium Aerogel enhanced graphite and features Dunlop’s new Biomimetic technologies: Aeroskin to reduce aerodynamic drag, making the racket faster through the air; HM6 Carbon to enhance the racket feel, and the Gecko-Tac grip for ultimate control in all conditions. The Biomimetic 600 will be Tommy Robredo’s racket of choice.

Biomimetic 600 LITE

Designed for beginners up to intermediate players, the Biomimetic 600 LITE features:

For those players with a shorter swing who want more power and forgiveness, the 600 LITE packs a lot of punch for a lightweight frame. The racket is constructed with 100% premium Aerogel enhanced graphite and features Dunlop’s new Biomimetic technologies: Aeroskin to reduce aerodynamic drag, making the racket faster through the air; HM6 Carbon to enhance the racket feel, and the Gecko-Tac grip for ultimate control in all conditions. The Biomimetic 600 LITE will be Dominika Cibulkova’s racket of choice.
