Bollettieri launches coaching website

May 1, 2015

Bradenton FL – John Wooden, Mike Krycheskvsky, Casey Stengle, Tony La Russa, Don Schula and Bill Belichik – how coaches prepare, motivate and inspire the world’s greatest athletes is often held very close to the vest. Now, Nick Bollettieri, the most celebrated coach in tennis history, creator of the modern day tennis academy concept, founder of the Nick Bollettieri Tennis Academy (now IMG Academy), and mentor and coach to ten world number one ranked ATP/WTA tennis champions has announced that he is giving fans around the world, for the first time ever, the rare and exclusive access to peruse his personal and formerly private library of plans, notes, photos, videos and published articles.

The Hall of Famer, has launched a new website, nickbollettieri.com complete with personal stories, images and the secret training techniques he utilized to cultivate some of the biggest names to ever step foot on a tennis court including Andre Agassi, Monica Seles, Jim Courier, Maria Sharapova, Serena Williams, Venus Williams, Boris Becker, Martina Hingis, Marcelo Rios and Jelena Jankovic.

The treasure trove of content sat for years in Bollettieri’s personal storage units near to the Bradenton training academy bearing his name, which he sold to International Manage Group (now William Morris Endeavor IMG) in 1987. The self-proclaimed “pack rat” admits that he has kept his training plans, notebooks, diagrams and photo and video library secret until now, carefully cataloging and archiving his approach and journey though the sport.

“Call me crazy, but for the past 50 years I have chronicled nearly every moment of my tennis life. I have dedicated my entire adult life to this sport, cultivating players and helping athletes at every level realize more of their full potential on and off the court,” said Bollettieri. “And while I have and continue to reach a good number of tennis fans through the IMG Academy, I realized that my philosophies, learnings and documentation of my experience in tennis were better served shared with people around the world versus sitting in boxes in a dark room.”

“When we opened the doors to his storage and saw the sheer quantity of what he had saved and was keeping behind closed doors, we stood there with mouths wide open,” said Steve Shulla, Content Director for NickBollettieri.com “Once we opened the first box and saw its contents, the never-before-seen photos and documents, we knew we had to share it with the larger tennis world. It is amazing to see how true and relevant his thoughts and approach remain today – not to mention how fun it is to look back at all of the images he captured along the way.”

Bollettieri has partnered with TEAM HQS (teamhqs.com) to launch the new nickbollettieri.com, a website where fans can access his entire catalog. By subscribing to the site though a $99 a year subscription, users will instantly gain total access to all of the articles, videos, tips and photos including information from trusted peers and staff members that have all coached and trained athletes through more than 170 Grand Slam championships. In addition, new content will be added to the site each week.
