US Open qualies set attendance record

The US Open Qualifying Tournament, the free event during which 128 men and 128 women attempt to qualify for the US Open singles main draws by winning three matches over four days, set an all-time, total attendance record this year, with 46,894 fans coming to the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center from August 25-28 to watch up-and-comers, such as 2015 French Open boys’ champion Tommy Paul, and veterans on the comeback trail attempt to win their way into the US Open, which begins August 31.
