PTR’s Level 2 Certification Accredited by NCACE

Hilton Head Island, SC, USA — Professional Tennis Registry (PTR) has received full accreditation by the National Committee for Accreditation of Coaching Education (NCACE) under the auspices of the United States Center for Coaching Excellence (USCCE). The NCACE accreditation was for PTR’s recently launched Level 2 Certification.
Initially accredited in 2011, PTR is one of only 32 accredited coach education programs within the United States. PTR continues to demonstrate that it is a leader in quality coach education while developing comprehensive programs in alignment with guidelines for program supervision, personnel, and operations. “The new Level 2 immerses coaches in key components vital to improving coaching knowledge, skills and behaviors,” said Dan Santorum, PTR CEO. “Special thanks to PTR Education Consultants, Dr. Anne Pankhurst and Sarah McQuade along with Brian Parkkonen, COO. Through this accreditation process, NCACE confirms that the PTR program adheres to the characteristics of excellence as prescribed by SHAPE America’s National Standards for Sports Coaches. These standards feature eight domains of coaching responsibilities and within them, 40 standards and subsequent benchmarks representing the body of knowledge associated with each coaching responsibility and provide concrete examples of actions and orientations that constitute coaching competence. Accreditation reviewers noted that PTR “continues to serve as a benchmark for all other coaching education providers.”
