USPTA Texas Division Southwest Tennis Buying Show to be held in Houston
July 21, 2008
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE — The Texas Division of the United States Professional Tennis Association will host one of the most popular tennis buying shows when its Southwest Tennis Buying Show opens August 22 and 23 at Westin Oaks Hotel in Houston. More than 100 buyers are expected to attend the buying show this summer.
The division’s winter trade show brought out over 125 buyers and had over 40 booths. The show is free for buyers and those who attend the USPTA Texas annual meeting and for all shops with tennis accounts or those wanting to establish new ones.
“The USPTA Texas Southwest Tennis Buying Show was created to service the tennis industry in the Southwest region of our nation,” Joe Snailum, USPTA Texas president, said. “One can see the latest and greatest in fashion and equipment under one roof and make intelligent buying decisions versus the old-fashioned way of doing business by waiting for your sales rep to come to you.”
Major vendors in the past have included HEAD Penn Racquet Sports, Pro Penn tennis balls, Bolle´, Wilson Sporting Goods, Fromuth/Nike, Babolat, Sergio Tacchini, Reebok, Grip Tite, Tennis Industry Association, USTA Texas Section, Prince, LeJay, Tennis Life Magazine, Fila, Lily’s, Tail, OnCourt-OffCourt, Playmate Ball Machines, Dobbs Tennis Courts, Clarke Distributing, Alpha Sports, Yonex, Dunlop, Adidas, Ralph Lauren Polo and many more.
“I love the idea that I can come in and view multiple lines and do one stop buying for my club’s pro shop, while my tennis pro husband can take advantage of the USPTA education courses,” said Penny Maingot, pro shop buyer for the Corpus Christi Country Club.
Booths are still available. Vendors interested in purchasing a booth can contact Jenny Gray at [email protected] or call 903-561-3014.
