March 12, 2009

[CHICAGO] — Juan Martin Del Potro has signed a new long term agreement with Wilson Racquet Sports.

2008 was a defining year for Del Potro, with his meteoric rise from top 40 to top 10. He achieved this feat with a 23-match winning streak over five tournaments last summer. Wilson, the number one brand in tennis, is extending an already successful partnership with this rising champion. With his [K] Six.One 95 racket, this standout player currently ranks sixth in the world and is the youngest player in the Top 10.

“I feel confident on the court with Wilson equipment. I know my racket, bag, strings all have the superior technology, quality and feel to support my style of play“. Del Potro continued “Wilson provides the best tour player services in the world and this is also something that makes it easy for me to concentrate on court to keep winning.” Del Potro is not just the current youngest top 10 ATP player, but he is also now the highest ranked South American player on tour.

“We are thrilled to have Del Potro continue on the Wilson team,” said Massimo Calvelli, Global Tour Director. “His talent and eagerness to improve his game will allow him continued success on tour.”

Wilson’s new longer term endorsement with Del Potro includes not just rackets but also strings, bags, grips, and tennis balls. Juan Martin will continue his success with his [K] Six.One 95 this week at the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells.
