Gordon Grabs Maiden Tour Title in Yokohama
May 6, 2009
Just a month after Julian Illingworth became the first US player to win a PSA World Tour squash title for more than five years, fellow countryman Christopher Gordon secured his maiden title at the Japan Pro Squash Yokohama at Yokohama Squash Stadium SQ-CUBE in Yokohama, Japan.
The top-seeded 22-year-old from New York had to battle for 82 minutes to overcome Korean Nyeon-Ho Lee in the semi-finals — then despatched England’s second seed James Snell 11-7, 11-7, 12-10 in the 52-minute final to win the inaugural PSA Satellite event in Japan’s largest incorporated city.
