International Tennis Hall of Fame and Museum Offers Free Tennis Lessons Conducted by USPTA Pros

NEWPORT, RI – The International Tennis Hall of Fame & Museum will offer free tennis lessons to people of all ages and skill levels during United States Professional Tennis Association (USPTA) Day on Friday, August 21. This event will run from 12:00pm – 4:00pm on the Horseshoe Court at the International Tennis Hall of Fame & Museum during the 2009 Hall of Fame Champions Cup, to be held August 20-23.
Since clinic space is limited, interested parties should call 866-914-FAME to reserve a spot. Participants should wear sneakers and athletic clothing.
The International Tennis Hall of Fame & Museum is accepting donations of usable tennis racquets to be distributed to youth groups and recreation programs such as the Arthur Ashe Youth Tennis & Education Organization. Racquets may be mailed or dropped off daily between 9:30am and 5:00pm to the International Tennis Hall of Fame & Museum (194 Bellevue Avenue, Newport, RI 02840) prior to August 20, 2009.
In exchange for donated racquets, the International Tennis Hall of Fame & Museum will award two complimentary South Stand tickets to the 2009 Hall of Fame Champions Cup, valid Thursday, August 20 or Friday, August 21. The 2009 Hall of Fame Champions Cup is one of eight stops on the Outback Champions Series. The tournament features eight champions, including two former World No.1 ranked Hall of Famers Jim Courier and Mats Wilander. The field also includes defending champion Pat Cash, along with Todd Martin, Mark Philippoussis, Wayne Ferreira, Jimmy Arias and Mikael Pernfors, all competing for $150,000 in prize money.
