ITHF Benefit Auction Serves up Unique Items and Experiences

NEW YORK, NY — Guests attending the 29th annual Legends Ball on September 11th at Cipriani (42nd Street in New York City) will rub elbows with tennis royalty, honor the greats of the game and have the opportunity to support the International Tennis Hall of Fame & Museum by participating in a live and silent auction. More than 50 unique items will be on the block including; signed racquets from Roger Federer and Maria Sharapova, VIP ticket packages to three of the 2010 Grand Slam events, a luncheon with Hall of Famer Tony Trabert and a hit session with fellow Hall of Famer Jim Courier.
All proceeds from the live and silent auctions, which will be hosted by Sotheby’s auctioneer Benjamin Doller, will benefit the International Tennis Hall of Fame. Tickets to the Legends Ball are still available.

The Legends Ball, held annually since 1980, brings the tennis world together to celebrate the history of the game and honor some of the sport’s great contributors all while raising money for the International Tennis Hall of Fame & Museum. The special night of celebration, hosted by ABC-TV’s Robin Roberts, will also honor a bevy of tennis luminaries and the Hall of Fame Induction Class of 2009 – Donald L. Dell, Andres Gimeno, the late Dr. Robert Johnson and nine-time Grand Slam Champion Monica Seles. In addition, Tennis Channel will be presented with the Joseph F. Cullman 3rd Award while the Eugene L. Scott Award will be presented to the late Arthur Ashe and his wife Jeanne Moutoussamy-Ashe.
