Mechelen — Telenet, a leading Belgian Telecommunications operator, announced it has signed a three year agreement with Belgian Tennis star Yanina Wickmayer. This new agreement will come into effect on January 1, 2010 and will last for three years. The Telenet logo will be visible on the match and practice clothes of Yanina Wickmayer.

Telenet has decided to start a relationship with Yanina because of her incredible drive and strong ambition to become one of the best tennis players in the world. These qualities helped Yanina produce the best year of her career by reaching the semi-finals of the US Open, winning two tournaments and ending the year ranked among the top 16 players in the world.

Through this endorsement, Telenet is investing in a young and dynamic athlete who receives incredible support across her native Flemish Belgium. In similar fashion, Telenet is a young ambitious company providing its customers with the best products and service.

“It is a great sign of support to see a top company like Telenet start this relationship with me at this stage of my career. It gives me extra motivation and confidence so close to my departure to Australia” states Yanina Wickmayer.

“We strongly believe in Yanina. She has an abundance of talent, won’t let setbacks stand in her way, and continues to strive to be the best. As a young woman and role model, she is an individual that not only loves our products but also fits perfectly in the world of facebook, mobile phone service, and mobile internet. It speaks for itself that we will follow Yanina through our TV platforms and we will stay connected with Yanina through our mobile services. We wish her nothing but the best in Australia and for the rest of the season” adds Saskia Schatteman, Executive Vice President Residential Marketing at Telenet.
