ATP Appoints Kate Gordon VP of Communications

London, United Kingdom — Kate Gordon has been appointed Vice President of Corporate Communications for the ATP, ATP President and Executive Chairman Adam Helfant announced today.
Gordon brings a wealth of global communications experience to the Tour, having worked at the highest levels of the sports industry, both in-house and on the agency side. She has led campaigns for clients in connection with the last five Olympic Games and a variety of professional sports, including governing bodies such as the PGA TOUR and Major League Baseball.
Most recently Gordon was the UK Head of Sports and Sponsorship for Edelman Public Relations, managing multi-office teams across Europe, Asia, the Middle East and North America.
“We are very much looking forward to having Kate bring her experience and enthusiasm to the Tour,” said Helfant. “Kate’s impressive track record in a wide variety of sports will help not only in expanding the reach and impact of tennis, but will add a broad perspective to the global operations of the Tour.”
Gordon begins her duties with the ATP this week and will be based in the ATP’s London office.
Gordon commented: “I’m thrilled to join the ATP and eager to get to work. It’s an exciting time for the sport and I look forward to the fun and hard work that lies ahead.”
Earlier in her career Gordon became the first woman in the history of the Boston Red Sox Baseball Club to preside over the Fenway Park press box and travel as a team PR representative.With this appointment, Gordon becomes the first female communications head at the ATP.
Gordon is a native of Boston, Massachusetts and graduated from Tufts University with a degree in Psychology.
