AFP to deliver live sports feed to Puma Phone

BARCELONA, Spain — Agence France Presse (AFP) and Sagem Wireless today announced that PUMA PHONE users will be able to enjoy instant access to international sport news and photos, through the LIVE SPORT NEWS service from AFP.

The PUMA PHONE, unveiled today at Mobile World Congress, is not like other phones; its design from on-board features and technology to online PUMA services reflects the DNA of the PUMA’s sportlifestyle brand. Completely custom designed from the inside out, the PUMA PHONE is a connected lifestyle device that facilitates and encourages activity – digitally and physically. The AFP feed of sports news and photos, together with football calendars and live scores, is a key element of the PUMA PHONE experience.

PUMA PHONE users will be able to connect to and download the LIVE SPORT NEWS application through the PUMA WORLD portal, an online world where users can interact with multimedia content from puma.com, download PUMA applications, and access PUMA products through mCommerce services. The AFP news and photo content will deliver news and photos from all sports, including football specific content and live updates and results from the FIFA World Cup 2010 in South Africa.

The LIVE SPORT NEWS content from AFP will be available through the PUMA WORLD portal from May 2010. The PUMA PHONE will be available through mobile network operators across greater Europe and on PUMA online store from April 2010, with international markets following.
