Prince to Sponsor USTA Spring Nationals
April 7, 2010
Bordentown, NJ — Prince, the total tennis company and global leader in premium performance tennis equipment, is proud to announce its official sponsorship of the USTA (United States Tennis Association) Boys’ and Girls’ 12’s National Spring Championships taking place in Delray Beach, Florida from April 10-17, 2010.
The event, which hosts 128-player draws for both boys and girls, is designed to showcase the country’s top talent in the youngest age group and provide a fun environment for elite competition.
As partner and official racquet of the event, members of the Prince Player Development Team will be on hand throughout the tournament to provide guidance to players, parents and coaches. This will include equipment information via an on-site product booth featuring the latest Prince offerings, coaching and development strategies and best practices from the Company’s forty years of working with some of the world’s finest athletes. In addition, Prince will be evaluating the young talent competing in order to identify potential additions to its roster of sponsored junior players. Prince will also present a sponsorship seminar outlining the requirements and obligations involved in becoming a sponsored athlete, both from the brand and player side, including ability and ideal character qualifications.
“While we are proud to support and sponsor some of the biggest names in tennis such as Maria Sharapova, Gael Monfils, Nikolay Davydenko, Bob and Mike Bryan, John Isner and Sam Querrey, it is our relationship with the games young, future stars that is paramount to our continued success. We are extremely pleased to say that many of the Prince Pro Tour Team members have been with us since they were 12 years-old,” said Max Brownlee, VP of Promotions at Prince Sports, Inc. “Prince takes seriously, and feels privileged to have, the opportunity to work with these exceptional 12 year-old athletes. This is a fantastic event and we are proud to be an integral part of it.”
“Aside from producing elite quality equipment, Prince basically wrote the book when it comes to junior development, sponsorship and overall grassroots support so to have them back as an official sponsor for this event is a fantastic sign for the future of this tournament and junior tennis in this country,” said Ivan Baron, Tournament Director. “These are our country’s youngest future stars and we feel fortunate to have a partner that can help us deliver a meaningful event that showcases this talent, helps educate player, parent and coach and most of all delivers a fun, competitive and rich atmosphere for the kids.”
Prince recently announced that it is also a new official sponsor of the 2010 Easter Bowl – one of the country’s most prestigious national tournaments for boys and girls in the 16’s and 18’s divisions. The Easter Bowl takes place in Rancho Mirage, California at the same time.
