Suiter Named USTA Southern TSR for Georgia
June 30, 2010
Atlanta, GA – USTA Southern has announced that Mark Suiter has been hired this month as a tennis service representative (TSR) for Georgia.
Suiter has enjoyed a 36-year professional teaching career. He served most recently as the tennis director at Berkeley Hills Country Club, and has been in the Atlanta area for over 30 years. Suiter was the tennis director at Rivermont County Club for 21 years and taught over 1,200 Junior Rallyball students.
Presently, Suiter serves on the executive board of the Southern USPTA as secretary/treasurer. He served as president of the Georgia Professional Tennis Association in 1994 and again in 2007. He has won the GPTA Director of the Year Award and twice was the GPTA Senior Player of the Year.
In 2004, Suiter won the Southern Professional Tennis Association’s seminar contest and competed in the national contest. He was the head judge for the Southern USPTA seminar contest for three years.
The tennis service representative position, which was created in 2005, functions within the USTA Southern’s Programs and Player Development Department. The TSR team’s goal is to increase participation in tennis by promoting, developing and servicing tennis programs in assigned geographic areas through the establishment of strong relationships with local tennis facilities, industry organizations and other non-tennis entities. Each of the nine Southern states has a TSR working in that territory.
Suiter joins Bill Dopp, who also serves as a TSR for Georgia. Suiter’s area covers central and southern Georgia along with the northwestern portion of the state.
