TenniStar for iPhone/iPod touch

September 21, 2010

*WATERLOO, ONTARIO and BETHESDA, MARYLAND — * 430 Mobile Corporation and TenniStar® today announced the release of their innovative tennis instruction app, TenniStar®, available exclusively for iPhone and iPod Touch.

TenniStar® brings expert tennis instruction to your handheld device. Perfect for beginning and intermediate players of all ages, the lessons are based on proven methods developed over 25 years at TenniStar camps and lesson programs, which run year-round in the Washington, DC, metro area. Narrated by a veteran coach and instructor, the app displays widely accepted techniques for developing tennis fundamentals in easy-to-follow videos.

“I was really surprised how well the teaching moments came through on the videos, and having the app with me on the court when I am practicing or working with my son has proven invaluable” says D.C. resident and tennis parent Joe Kelly.

In the TenniStar app, students and tennis pros demonstrate proper form and methods that build skills during practice. Each short video clip is accompanied by clear verbal descriptions and features slow-motion sequences and close-up views.

Bethesda, Maryland, based professional Mitch Henkin is president of TenniStar® and developed the app for the iPhone. A 35-year member of the United States Professional Tennis Association, Henkin is confident the app will prove useful in improving any player’s game. “I learned to play tennis when I was nine years old and the sport changed my life. This application makes learning to play a cinch and will hone skills of more advanced players.” says Henkin.

TenniStar® is available on an introductory basis for only $0.99 in the U.S. and is priced accordingly in other regions, and can be found at the Apple App Store for the iPhone or iPod touch.
