Orthotic Prosthetic Tech to host Free Clinic

October 4, 2010

Austin, Texas — Orthotic Prosthetic Technologies will once again host a free adaptive tennis clinic for amputees and those with physical challenges on Saturday, October 16 at Circle C Tennis Center in Austin. First Volley Adaptive Tennis, a program of OPAF & The First Clinics is geared towards anyone with a physical challenge who wants to give their tennis skills and drills a try. Wheelchair players are always welcome to join us. This is the second year in a row that OPT Texas has hosted a First Volley Clinic for the residents of Austin and surrounding areas.

Orthotic Prosthetic Technologies, Inc., was founded by Aaron Foreman, CPO, MSPT, in 2004. Our goal at OPT is to assist each individual in reaching their maximum potential, whether it is going back to work, running a marathon, or re-gaining their independence. OPT’s practitioners and technicians custom design each prosthesis and orthosis with the most current and proficient technology available. OPT is dedicated to delivering the highest quality orthotic and prosthetic service possible—taking great pride in their professionalism, compassion, and service. OPT strives to maintain the highest credentialed and best qualified staff possible to achieve mutual goals with their clients. OPT has offices in Austin, Round Rock, Temple and San Marcos.

First Volley, led by our Director of Tennis, Darren Kindred, will show that anyone can work on their tennis game, regardless of limitations and we will introduce or re-introduce the game to you! The clinic will be held at Circle C Tennis Club, located at 7401 State Highway 45 in Austin from 1 to 4 pm. There is NO CHARGE for First Volley, just the chance to try tennis with top flight instructors with years of experience working with individuals with physical challenges. World renowned tennis coach, Dennis Ralston will be part of the afternoon, along with noted tennis personality, Henry Cox as well as Fernando Velasco and his staff from Circle C. Participants will be fed balls and urged to work on their strokes and drills. The clinic will conclude with the always popular “Hitting for Prizes”, sponsored by Prince Sports.

OPT Texas is hosting First Volley at no charge to any participant, but we do urge those interested to register so that we are prepared. For more information and registration materials, please contact Frieda Borth at OPT Texas at 512-377-2323 or [email protected] or visit the OPT Texas website at opttexas.com.
