Mirror Image Internet Accelerates ATP’s Mobile Website
December 2, 2010
TEWKSBURY, Mass. — Mirror Image® Internet, a leading provider of content delivery solutions powered by a patented global network, today announced that its Edge Computing Framework (ECF) will enable the ATP, the global governing body of the men’s professional tennis tour, to deliver content for its new mobile website.
“Mirror Image is extremely pleased to be a key piece of the ATP’s mobile delivery strategy”
Mirror Image’s ECF provides the ATP with a customized solution that detects if the requesting agent is a desktop, smartphone, or other web-enabled mobile device, and then optimizes the delivery of the content from Mirror Image’s edge tier. Mirror Image is ATP’s only content distribution provider.
“We needed that ability to deliver content to the iPhone, Android, and thousands of other web-enabled devices,” said John Phillips, ATP Senior Vice President of Digital Marketing. “Mirror Image’s Edge Computing Framework allows us to deliver official live scores, breaking news and video to more than a billion mobile web browsers around the world.”
ECF can detect a wide range of conditions and settings associated with online visitors and execute logic which drives actions in real time “at the edge” of the network, increasing scalability while shortening response times. Customized edge logic is created and deployed across Mirror Image’s global content delivery network through a configuration process that is faster, simpler, and less error-prone than other approaches that require customers to write new code.
The ATP is capitalizing on the mobile market as the fastest growing access point to the web with the launch of the new mobile site that will expand the company’s reach and broaden the delivery of ATP World Tour content, including live scores and video.
“Mirror Image is extremely pleased to be a key piece of the ATP’s mobile delivery strategy,” said Gustav Vik, President and Chief Executive Officer for Mirror Image Internet. “ATPWorldTour.com is the premier site for men’s professional tennis and our Edge Computing Framework ensures that their visitors have an exceptional viewing experience on every screen whether it is a mobile device or a desktop.”
