Oudin Endorses Wilson Apparel and Footwear

December 18, 2010

[CHICAGO] — Melanie Oudin will start wearing Wilson apparel and footwear in 2011. She has been a long time player of Wilson and has great success with her Blade racquet. By adding apparel and footwear to her line up, the 19 year old becomes a Wilson exclusive player.

In 2009, she made her way through Wimbledon qualifying and eventually earning her spot in the main draw. Melanie defeated former No. 1 Jelena Jankovic to make her first 4th round appearance at a Grand Slam. The win not only marked her first over a Top 10 player but also her debut into the WTA’s Top 100. Later that summer Melanie made an incredible run at the 2009 US Open. With wins over Elena Dementieva, Maria Sharapova and Nadia Petrova, Melanie quickly became a tournament favorite.

After using Wilson racquets for most of her career, the transition into Wilson’s apparel and footwear was an easy decision. “Wilson has always provided me with the latest technology and the best racquets for my game,” Melanie said at a recent visit to Wilson headquarters. “After meeting with the team, I knew that Wilson had the style and design behind their line and it was created for high performance tennis players.”

Inspired by fashion trends, innovative materials and smart design, the 2011 collection represents a comprehensive offering with pieces that are created for high end performance. Wilson has combined visual energy and dynamic color with intrinsic technical features that ensure our products look great and are truly “made to move” on the court.

Claire Ortiz, Global Business Director of Apparel and Footwear designed the line for high performance players. “Melanie’s energy on the court and winning personality are exactly what Wilson represents. We know her style and authenticity as a player is a perfect match for us.”

The 2011 Wilson Apparel and Footwear Collections ensure that every piece speaks to quality, fit and finish for the end use—high level tennis performance. The meticulous selection of functional materials and advanced construction techniques guarantee that Wilson’s 2011 Spring/Summer Apparel and Footwear Collection represents the authenticity of the #1 brand in tennis.
