TicketCity to sponsor Davis Cup quarterfinal

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. — The USTA announced today that TicketCity, a leader in secondary ticketing, has signed on to be a local sponsor of the 2011 Davis Cup by BNP Paribas Quarterfinal between the United States and Spain at The Frank Erwin Center on the University of Texas campus in Austin, July 8-10. The event is being organized, staged and promoted by the USTA.
The Austin-based company is the official secondary ticket provider of the Davis Cup quarterfinal between the United States and Spain. TicketCity plans to engage with tennis fans attending or watching the event through a variety of marketing and promotional elements implemented in the arena as well as during the broadcast of the matches throughout the weekend on Tennis Channel.

The Davis Cup quarterfinal is a best-of-five-match series played over three days (two singles on Friday, a doubles match on Saturday and two singles matches on Sunday). Matches are best-of-five sets until one team clinches the tie. Sunday’s schedule is subject to change.
The competition is expected to include Davis Cup stalwart Andy Roddick, who currently resides in Austin and is second all-time in U.S. Davis Cup singles victories with 33. World No. 1 and nine-time Grand Slam singles champion Rafael Nadal is expected to compete for Spain. This will be the first home tie for U.S. Davis Cup Captain Jim Courier, who is in his first year at the helm, and the first home tie for the U.S. Davis Cup team since the 2009 first round in Birmingham, Ala.
