Tennis 15-30: Digital magazine

February 14, 2012

New York, New York — Tennis Media Company (TMC) Managing Partners Bob Miller and George Mackin announced today the launch of a new digital magazine called Tennis 15-30. Delivered twice each month, on the 15th and 30th, the interactive digital-only editions are purebred products that serve as a stand-alone to be consumed on both desktop browsers and such tablet devices as iPad and Kindle Fire.

“Tennis 15-30 is a game-changer,” said Bob Miller. “We’re now able to provide world-class written and video content more quickly, efficiently and creatively than ever before with a product that can be delivered across every relevant digital platform.”

The digital magazine offers previews, insight and analysis of professional tennis in addition to fitness tips, instruction help and other useful content designed to improve the reader’s game. Tennis 15-30 employs a responsive design layout to power the content on multiple platforms and gives readers the ability to scroll through stories, watch videos and swipe through slide shows. Regular contributors to Tennis 15-30 include renowned coach Nick Bollettieri, author and former player Dr. Allen Fox and seven-time Grand Slam singles champion Mats Wilander. In addition to the regular twice-monthly issues, Tennis Media Company will produce four Grand Slam Specials with in-depth coverage of these worldwide events. These special editions will offer first-hand reporting from the tournament grounds and in-depth analysis of the tournaments.

“Our Tennis 15-30 digital product offering will optimize the tennis enthusiast’s love of the game,” George Mackin said. “Tennis Media Company is poised to expand our consumer base while we create new market opportunities for advertisers, tournaments and sponsors.”

Produced in collaboration with the United States Tennis Association, Tennis 15-30 will be available to all USTA members. Jon Vegosen, USTA Chairman of the Board and President said, “This is an extraordinary opportunity to reach out and have a direct relationship with our members. We are thrilled with this adaptable form of communication designed for the growing tennis community.”

The technology that drives Tennis 15-30 was custom-built by Sanborn Media Factory, New York-based company that specializes in digital solutions for the publishing industry. Part of what makes Tennis 15-30 unique is that it uses HTML5, Javascript and CSS3 to create an experience that feels “app-like” on a tablet so that a reader can interact with the content by such actions as swiping, touching and pinching.

“The Tennis Media Company is among the most forward-thinking publishers we work with,” said Chris Sanborn, President of Sanborn Media Factory. “It’s a company that fully understands where the technology is going and they are committed to having products that meet the needs of their enthusiastic audience.”

Jeff Williams, Group Publisher of Tennis Media Company said, “We believe this new digital-only publication, created by our team of world-class tennis writers and experts, further solidifies our place as the unrivaled premier source of all news, entertainment and information surrounding tennis. Advertisers will have increased opportunities to reach the consumer with video enhanced ads and direct links to advertisers’ sites. We expect Tennis 15-30 to be a win/win for both the consumer and our partners in the advertising community.”
