Jansen Allen takes racquetball title

April 30, 2012

The Wilson Advisory staff prides itself on partnering with the most prominent players in the game of racquetball. Jansen Allen, Wilson Advisory staff member, proved he’s matchless as he won this year’s Intercollegiate Nationals Tournament, and took home both the singles and doubles Title for CSU Pueblo.

The 40th USAR National Intercollegiate Tournament was held at Arizona State University in Tempe. The exhilarating competition garnered 41 schools and almost 300 athletes who feverishly competed for the Intercollegiate Title. The finals tournament for singles competitors brought Allen, who played #1 seed, head-to-head with defending Intercollegiate Champion, Taylor Knoth, who represented Oregon State. Allen captured the crowd with his unparalleled skills and dominated the match in the tie-breaker. The final score was 15-11, 13-15, 11-0 making for Allen’s first singles Intercollegiate Title.

Allen’s intensity didn’t stop there. He proved he still had some fire as he went right into his doubles match, an area he conquered in past tournaments. Allen teamed up with his CSU classmate, Nick Montalbano, to win the doubles title for the 3rd time in 4 years. Together this dynamic duo dominated Taylor Knoth and Grand Stalley 15-6, 15-7.

“Jansen was on a mission all weekend”, says Terri Graham, Global Business Director for Wilson Sporting Goods. “He knew it was his last chance to get the Intercollegiate singles title and he didn’t let anyone stand in his way. Jansen is an incredible young and talented athlete in today’s game. He will win many more titles as he furthers his career on the pro tour”.

“Wow, what a great way to end my collegiate career, with a singles and doubles National Championship Title for CSU — Pueblo”, says Jansen Allen. “I feel fortunate to have been a part of two great teams, CSU-Pueblo with Coach Krinsky and all my teammates, and Team Wilson with its awesome racquets and their support. It was an experience I will never forget.”

Wilson Sporting Goods is proud to work with undeniably remarkable players like Jansen Allen, and looks forward to the great success the partnership will bring in the future.
