MADRID — Maui Jim, Inc. the world’s leading manufacturer of premium polarized sunglasses has reaffirmed its commitment to tennis with the appointment today of a new global ambassador: Spanish player, David Ferrer.
After the session, Ferrer met with a group of journalists: “I’m delighted to be one of the Maui Jim’s Ambassadors. I’m constantly travelling all over the world, all year round, and I’m sure they’re going to be really useful,” said: “I’ve found the sunglasses to be of excellent quality and Maui Jim offers a great range of models,” added Ferrer. Martijn Van Eerde, the International Marketing Manager of Maui Jim, also spoke about the agreement reached between the player and the brand: “It’s great news for us to have David on board. He’s a great player who enjoys worldwide recognition and shares many of the essential values of Maui Jim, such as quality, style, uniqueness and brilliance.”
The PolarizedPlus2® lens technology patented by Maui Jim makes colours truer and brighter, reducing harmful glare and exposure to UV rays, thus making them a tremendous asset for any sportsperson. When it comes to tennis, in particular, they reduce glare and improve players’ vision of the ball, while the anti-reflective treatment minimizes eye fatigue during lengthy training sessions.
Among the 14 titles won by the Alicante player during his career, there is one very special one: the Valencia Open 500, the tournament that is part-owned by David Ferrer and which he won in 2010. Indeed, last year’s tournament clearly demonstrated that tennis players are not the only ones to benefit from the performance of Maui Jim sunglasses. On that occasion, the thirty line judges at the tournament all wore Maui Jim sunglasses during matches to help improve their vision and thus perform their jobs to the best of their ability. In view of their comments following the nine days of the competition, they could not have been more satisfied with the experience.
