Alonso Appointed to PTR Board of Directors

Hilton Head Island, SC — Professional Tennis Registry (PTR) announced the appointment of Leo Alonso, of Buenos Aires, Argentina, to its Board of Directors.

Alonso has been a member of the organization for more than 30 years, and has served as the Official Representative for PTR in Argentina since 1995. A PTR Master Professional, Alonso is currently the coach and manager of ATP players Carlos Berlocq (#44) and Leonardo Mayer (#63). In addition, he is the owner and founder of T.S. Management, a club management company currently responsible for 102 tennis courts and 30 teaching professionals.

A presenter at many of the sport’s most prominent conferences and symposia, Alonso has been a featured speaker at the USTA Tennis Teachers Conference, PTR International Tennis Symposium, and ITF Regional Coaches Conference. He has conducted more than 200 workshops for tennis teaching professionals in China, England, Italy, Spain, and all Latin American countries.

Alonso has received several PTR awards, including Professional of the Year, Touring Coach of the Year, Clinician of the Year, Tester of the Year, and Pro of the Year for PTR Argentina.

“At a young age, Leo has accomplished so much in tennis. He is one of the brightest young stars in our industry,” said PTR President Jorge Andrew. “With his wide range of experience, he will be a tremendous asset to the PTR Board.”

PTR is the largest global organization of tennis teaching professionals with more than 14,000 members in 117 countries. It has the greatest percentage of multicultural and women members of any such organization. PTR is dedicated to educating, certifying and servicing tennis teachers and coaches around the world in order to grow the game.
