Kyle Edmund is a big hit with young players

LONDON — Up-and-coming British Wimbledon hopeful Kyle Edmund served up some great tips for young tennis enthusiasts at David Lloyd (davidlloyd.co.uk) Hull on Sunday (May 18) during a Great British Tennis (davidlloyd.co.uk/at-david-lloyd/racquets/tennis) Weekend.
“We are very grateful to Kyle for attending our first Great British Tennis Weekend. The children were very excited to get on court with Kyle, who is making significant progress in the tennis ranks and is a fantastic role model for any aspiring young player (davidlloyd.co.uk/at-david-lloyd/racquets/junior-tennis).”
Kyle, who is the 8th ranked player in Britain, put a group of junior players through their paces and showed them an array of skills when he was invited along to the event in Raich Carter Way, Kingston upon Hull, as the club’s special guest.
David Lloyd Hull (davidlloyd.co.uk/club-finder/hull) is among the group’s nationwide network of racquets clubs hosting the Great British Tennis Weekends, in association with the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA), for families to play tennis for free, with further weekends planned on June 21-22, June 28-29 and July 19-20.
Kyle, 19, who trained as a child at the club through its Tennis All Stars (davidlloyd.co.uk/tennis-all-stars) junior coaching programme and will be taking part in next month’s Wimbledon tournament, said: “It was a great day and I was very impressed with the children’s enthusiasm for tennis. Hopefully, some of the knowledge I have given them will help them in their training and competitions.”
David Lloyd Hull general manager Patrick Newcombe added: “We are very grateful to Kyle for attending our first Great British Tennis Weekend. The children were very excited to get on court with Kyle, who is making significant progress in the tennis ranks and is a fantastic role model for any aspiring young player (davidlloyd.co.uk/at-david-lloyd/racquets/junior-tennis).”
