Longoria continues her winning ways

August 19, 2014

San Luis Potosi, Mexico — The Ladies Professional Racquetball Tour (LPRT) kicked off its 2014-2015 season with a Grand Slam event named after the tour’s top player, Paola Longoria® The Experience. And the tournament namesake lived up to expectations in her home country by winning the Women’s Singles and Women’s Doubles Professional Divisions.

Longoria cruised through the singles draw to reach the tournament final where she would match up with fellow HEAD Penn professional touring player Maria Jose Vargas. After taking the first game, Paola jumped out to a 10-3 lead in game two before Maria came storming back. Jose Vargas, currently ranked No. 3 in the world, tied the game at 10-10, but Paola eventually score two more points to take the game. Longoria easily won the third game 11-2 to capture the tournament title.

Both Paola and Maria recently switched to HEAD Radical 160 frames, made with HEAD’s revolutionary new Graphene technology. “I can’t believe the incredible power these new Radical frames from HEAD possess,” Longoria explained. “My drive serve has never moved this fast. I can’t wait to play the next event on tour!”

Paola’s consecutive match winning streak on the LPRT now sits at 141 matches, while her consecutive professional tournament winning streak is pushed to 35. The win is Longoria’s 51st career tournament title on the LPRT.

This summer Paola won two Gold Medals at the World Championships played in Canada. In addition to her record breaking ways on the LPRT, Longoria has won 16 international Gold Medals.
