September 2, 2014
Cary, NC – The V Foundation for Cancer Research, one of the nation’s leading cancer research funding organizations, is proud to announce Esurance raised $100,000 for cancer research through its #RallyForACause campaign in just one day. As featured on Good Morning America, tennis stars rallied on a state-of-the-art tennis court built in Times Square on August 21, 2014, to help raise funds and awareness. Esurance also donated to The V Foundation for each tweet tagged with @Esurance and a hashtag #RallyForACause.
“Esurance and the US Open—what a great team,” said Susan Braun, CEO of The V Foundation. “The V Foundation is grateful to everyone who took part in #RallyForACause to support our work, funding life-saving cancer research.”
The event, hosted by former Men’s Doubles French Open champion Murphy Jensen, kicked off with No. 1 Emirates ATP Doubles Team and twin brothers Bob and Mike Bryan rallying with morning personalities Lara Spencer and Robin Roberts live on Good Morning America. Former Australian Open singles champion and current ATP Top 20 player Victoria Azarenka was on-site, and she coached throughout the rallying session. Other participating tennis stars included Taylor Townsend, Jack Sock, as well as 7-time singles and 9-time men’s doubles Grand Slam champion John McEnroe.
