ASBA announces 2014 Technical Meeting

ELLICOTT CITY, MD — The American Sports Builders Association (ASBA), the trade association for those involved in the design, construction and supply of materials for athletic facilities, has announced that its annual Technical Meeting will be held December 5-9 in Ponte Vedra, Florida.
The meeting, which includes technical programming for industry members who work with facilities for tennis, track and field, sports fields and indoor athletic facilities, is expected to generate record attendance.
The event also offers an outstanding trade show with products and services for the sports facility construction industry. The show, the site of receptions, meals and other gatherings, is easily one of the most popular aspects of the Technical Meeting. There will also be meetings of ASBA’s committees and task forces, and chances to become involved with association projects, publications and more. Additional activities, such as the golf and tennis tournaments, provide further opportunities to spend time with industry colleagues.
This year’s Technical Meeting will also include a keynote address by Troy Hazard, recent Global President of the elite Entrepreneurs’ Organization, who will discuss “Lessons from the Edge,” including how to recognize when it is time to take risks, and how to develop strategies to avoid organizational trouble.
The meeting will include the opportunity for individuals to take the ASBA’s certification exams to become a Certified Tennis Court Builder, Certified Track Builder or Certified Field Builder. It will additionally include the much-awaited announcement of the winners of the association’s annual Awards Program.
