Stapleton named Member of the Year

Hilton Head Island, SC — Professional Tennis Registry (PTR) will present its annual awards next month during the 2015 PTR International Tennis Symposium. The event, which includes more than 40 educational presentations for tennis teachers and coaches, a trade show and tournament, will be held February 19-22 on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina.
Bruce Stapleton, of Centerville, Ohio, has been named PTR Member of the Year for the State. This award is presented to a PTR member who has shown dedication and diligence in promoting and supporting tennis and PTR.
Stapleton is the Chief Club Officer at Five Seasons Family Sports Club in Dayton. He has been involved in tennis since the 1970s, when he taught tennis and strung racquets to make money for college.
Always sports oriented, Stapleton played basketball for UNC-Charlotte and was a member of the team that went to the Final Four in 1977. He completed his MBA and worked for a Fortune 100 technology company in planning and marketing for 18 years before deciding to start his own corporate wellness company. After three years, he moved to his current position at Five Seasons.
Over the last few years Stapleton has become increasingly involved with PTR by hosting certification workshops at Five Seasons. In 2014, he, his wife Priscilla and their son Alex all became PTR certified and have become ambassadors of the great programs PTR has developed, especially in the area of youth tennis training and certification.
PTR is the largest global organization of tennis teaching professionals with more than 15,000 members in 125 countries. It has the greatest percentage of multicultural and women members of any such organization. PTR is dedicated to educating, certifying and servicing tennis teachers and coaches around the world in order to grow the game.
