Greenville, SC – This Saturday in Denver, the Racquetball Hall of Fame will welcome Sudsy Monchik as its newest member, adding another honor to the racquetball legend’s illustrious career. He will officially accept the award at the 2016 U.S. Open Championships in Minneapolis later this fall. Monchik, who currently serves as Dunlop’s Racquetball Category Manager, was named to the Hall of Fame by USA Racquetball in early March.
“We’ve counted on Sudsy since we launched our premium racquetball business in 2013, and his presence immediately legitimized our product,” said Kai Nitsche, V.P. and General Manager of Dunlop Sports Group Americas. “It’s great to see his contributions to the game be recognized and we’re happy to see him given this honor by USA Racquetball.”
“I have so many people to thank for helping me through my playing and business careers,” said Monchik. “A few years back, Dunlop gave me the opportunity to lead them into racquetball, and I’m proud to see what we’ve accomplished together in delivering the product to players across the country.”
Monchik, five-time world champion and holder of over 50 professional titles, has been in racquetball for 30 years. He continues to compete in select events, including exhibitions and clinics and announces racquetball on TV. Monchik led the development of Dunlop’s global product line, in addition to handling promotions and sponsorships.
