Penn is the official ball of CIF
July 27, 2015
The California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) and HEAD Penn Racquet Sports have announced the signing of a five-year agreement that names Penn as the Official Tennis Ball and HEAD Tennis Racquets as the exclusive tennis racquet partner of the CIF. The partnership is effective August 1st for the next five boys and girls tennis seasons through 2020.
Penn ATP World Tour—Penn’s long-lasting premium tennis ball and is specifically designed for durability, longevity, and visibility—will be the exclusive tennis ball for the CIF SoCal and NorCal Boys and Girls Regional Tennis Championships. Its proprietary rubber core technology retains the pressure inside the ball for a prolonged period of time, while the extremely durable high-visibility LongPlay felt extends the overall life, making it a popular choice for varsity tennis.
“We are excited to have HEAD Penn support our 1,554 high schools and their Boys and Girls Tennis programs across California,” said Roger Blake, CIF Executive Director. “This sponsorship allows our student-athletes the opportunity to play with the same Penn tennis balls that are used at the highest level of competitive tennis.”
“Penn is extremely pleased to partner with the CIF,” said Jeff Ratkovich, Senior Business Manager at HEAD Penn Racquet Sports. “We are committed to supporting high school tennis with our extensive selection of HEAD racquets and equipment, and we look forward to seeing these student athletes hitting Penn tennis balls on courts throughout the state of California for many years to come.”
