Drysdale partners with Cincinnati TC

January 28, 2016

Cincinnati, Ohio – Cliff Drysdale Tennis and Cincinnati Tennis Club are pleased to announce their new tennis partnership, which has a Drysdale-led team managing the tennis programming and facility for their 2016 season beginning in April.

Nestled in the heart of East Walnut Hills, Cincinnati Tennis Club was founded in 1880, just five years after tennis was introduced in America. The club is the second oldest tennis club west of the Allegheny Mountains, and is among the ten oldest clubs in the United States.

The members-only club features 10 outdoor clay courts, and a spacious club house with a large covered porch. The historic location has played host to many prominent past tournaments and is currently the home of the USTA National Father Son Clay Court Championships. The club’s season runs from mid-April through Mid-October.

At the helm of the new program as Director of Tennis will be Cliff Drysdale’s son, Greg Drysdale. Growing up amidst the courts of the Lakeway World of Tennis where his parents Cliff and Jean were resident touring pros, Greg got his start in professional coaching at the Landfall Club in Wilmington, NC which also later featured a tennis and sports complex designed by Cliff Drysdale. Greg went on to coach at the multi-award-winning Brookhaven Country Club in Dallas, TX before relocating back to Austin, TX where he worked in operations and materials management in recent years for firms such as 3M and the State of TX.

“Cincinnati Tennis Club exudes old world charm and a rich tradition of tennis that we are honored to be a part of,” states Scott McCulloch, Vice President of Club Operations for Cliff Drysdale Tennis. “Greg Drysdale brings a wealth of knowledge to the club, both on and off the court. As a part of one of the world’s most legendary tennis families, Greg will also add to the legacy of the tennis tradition at the Cincinnati Tennis Club.”

“We are thrilled by our partnership with Cliff Drysdale and his management team,” stated of Scott Estes of the Cincinnati Tennis Club Board. “We are continually impressed by the level of professionalism they bring to our every interaction. With Cliff and his team in charge of our facility, we believe we will continue to thrive and grow for many years to come!”
