Kaiser named PTR Female Player of the Year

Hilton Head Island, SC — Professional Tennis Registry (PTR) will present its annual awards during the 2016 PTR International Tennis Symposium. The event, which includes more than 40 educational presentations for tennis teachers and coaches, will be held February 17-20 on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina.
Emmy Kaiser, of Fort Mitchell, Kentucky, has been named PTR Female Player of the Year.
PTR first met Kaiser in 2005, when she played in the PTR Wheelchair Tennis Championships. She is now a PTR member certified as a Wheelchair Tennis Coach.
Kaiser’s career high rankings in Junior Singles are #1 in the US and #3 in the world. Her career high in Women’s Singles are #1 in the US, #13 in the world, and in Doubles are #1 in the US, and #15 in the world.
Kaiser has been on the US World Team Cup Team 11 years, starting in 2005 on the junior team and moving up to the women’s team in 2009. She got the wildcard for the US Open in 2009 and 2011. Kaiser is a 2011 Parapan American Games gold medalist in Doubles wheelchair tennis and silver medalist for Singles. She was first alternate for the Paralympics in Beijing in 2008, and made it to the Round of 16 in Singles and Doubles in London 2012.
The 25 year old earned a bachelors degree in Psychology and an associates degree in Business Administration. She is graduate student at Ball State University working on her masters in Sport and Exercise Psychology with a minor in Coaching Education. Even with double majors, Kaiser manages to maintain a #1 ranking and takes time out to work with juniors and adults through demonstrations of wheelchair tennis.
Ultimately Kaiser hopes to help other athletes as a sport psychology consultant and teaching pro, and hopes one day to coach a college wheelchair tennis team.
