WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. – The United States Tennis Association (USTA) today announced that former Major League Baseball Advanced Media (MLBAM) vice president Kevin Mahoney has been named to the newly created position of Managing Director, Digital. Mahoney reports to USTA Chief Marketing Officer Amy Choyne.

In his new role, Mahoney will help lead the enterprise-wide transformation of the USTA’s digital marketing efforts and social media strategy, and its integration across all USTA divisions. This includes community tennis and its emphasis on driving the USTA mission and overall U.S. tennis participation, as well as all aspects of the USTA’s professional tennis interests, most notably the US Open.

“Kevin’s experience at MLBAM and overall track record of success in the rising digital marketing industry and with social media platforms brings added strength to our growing team as we continue to build and innovate the USTA’s and US Open’s digital offerings to the marketplace,” said Choyne.

Mahoney most recently served as Vice President, Partner Solutions for MLBAM, part of a 10-year career at the organization. In this role, he was responsible for launching and managing digital products across a variety of platforms for MLBAM and third party clients, such as WWE Network, HBO Now and FOX Sports Go. Prior to that role, Mahoney held positions at MLBAM that focused on developing their mobile products, along with managing a portfolio of critical third party mobile partner relationships. Before joining MLBAM, he managed digital media for the Sprint Nextel corporation.

Mahoney, 40, lives in Cos Cob, Conn., with his wife Erica and their two children, Caitlin and Andrew. He has a B.S. from the University of New Hampshire in Business Administration.
