Peg Connor Named E.D. of USTA Wyoming
March 9, 2018
USTA Intermountain and the USTA Wyoming Board of Directors are pleased to announce that Peg Connor has accepted the position as Executive Director of the Wyoming district.
Connor, a former collegiate player and coach, has been an event manager for ATP/WTA/WTT professional events, managed player promotions and marketing at Prince Global Sports and has most recently been working with the Tennis Industry Association, Tennis Industry magazine, USTA Middle States School Tennis Development and the International POP Tennis Association.
“My husband and I vacationed in Wyoming and really loved it and the mountains,” Connor said. “When one of the WYOTA job search committee members commented that ‘Wyoming tennis is like family,’ that hit me right in the heart … and that was that!”
“I’ve known Peg for many years and have observed firsthand her passion for tennis,” said USTA Intermountain Executive Director Rob Scott. “She is also one of those rare people who is instantly liked and she values personal relationships. Both qualities will enable the Wyoming District to achieve more than it ever has! We are thrilled Peg has chosen to join our Intermountain family!”
Becky Fischer, president of the Wyoming Board of Directors, also says Connor is the right person to lead the Wyoming Tennis Association to the next level within the state and the Intermountain section. “Her vast tennis industry experience, national contacts, and zeal for grassroots tennis make her a great addition to the Wyoming tennis family.”
“Peg has experience in almost every aspect of the tennis industry and her enthusiasm and love for the sport are contagious,” added Julie Francis, USTA Intermountain Board Representative for Wyoming. “We can’t wait for players around the State to meet Peg and are thrilled to welcome her aboard!”
