Top Collegians to Lead U.S. in 2019 Master’U BNP Paribas Int’l Team Event

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y., October 30, 2019 – The USTA announced the top American collegians selected to represent the U.S. in the annual Master’U BNP Paribas International Collegiate Team Competition November 29-December 1 in Grenoble, France.

Competing for the U.S. are: Aleks Kovacevic (Sr., Illinois; New York), a 2019 Intercollegiate Tennis Association Singles All-American and ranked No. 6 in the nation in collegiate singles; Alexandre Rotsaert (Soph., Stanford; Boca Raton, Fla.), an All-Pac 12 selection as a freshman; Keegan Smith (Jr., UCLA; San Diego), the 2019 NCAA men’s doubles champion; Jada Hart (Sr., UCLA; Colton, Calif.), a 2019 Singles All-American and NCAA singles quarterfinalist; Michaela Gordon (Jr., Stanford; Saratoga, Calif.), a two-time singles All-American and 2019 Pac-12 Singles Player of the Year; and Alexa Graham (Sr., UNC; Garden City, N.Y.), a 2019 Singles All-American and two-time Doubles All-American.

Former Boise State men’s coach Greg Patton and UCLA women’s associate head coach Rance Brown will travel with and coach the team, which will compete against teams from Belgium, China, France, Germany, Great Britain, Ireland and Italy.

Last year, Hart was a part of the U.S. team that won its eighth Master’U title in the last 10 years. Previous American collegians to play in the Master’U tournament include Steve Johnson (USC), Danielle Collins (Virginia), Mackenzie McDonald (UCLA), Austin Krajicek (Texas A&M), Irina Falconi (Georgia Tech), Jarmere Jenkins (Virginia), Marcos Giron (UCLA), Noah Rubin (Wake Forest), Chris Eubanks (Georgia Tech) and Francesca Di Lorenzo (Ohio State).

Each team match consists of two men’s and two women’s singles matches, one women’s and one men’s doubles match and a mixed doubles match.
