Phit America Receives $100,000 Grant From Impact 100 PBC
May 6, 2024
Jupiter, Florida, May 6, 2024 — PHIT America, the national charity that has already created over 1million active and healthier children, gets another boost with a $100,000 grant from Impact 100 Palm Beach County. With the funds, PHIT America will activate 15 schools with over 10,000 children with its school fitness programs. At least half of those children will be learning to play tennis with PHIT America’s PLAY TENNIS Program.
Jim Baugh, Founder of PHIT America, was excited to share the news. “Impact 100 Palm Beach County is a women’s charitable organization funding local nonprofit initiatives in southern Palm Beach County. When we were awarded this grant, I was so excited. We will be able to introduce so many kids to active and healthier lifestyles. Approximately 5,000 of these children will be learning to play tennis.”
The PLAY TENNIS Program will start to be rolled out during back to school 2024-25. PHIT America will also roll out AMPED, the running walking fitness program, that is the core of PHIT’s programs. PLAY TENNIS is supported by the United States Tennis Association who has allowed PHIT America to introduce tennis to over 100,000 children.
All programs also include Billie Jean King’s Brain Training System (Eye Coaches to teach ball striking skills, improve focus and concentration), including videos and lesson plans.
“It is vital we help more and more children get more active and healthier,” said Baugh. US kids are ranked last in physical health according to UNICEF and in a separate study, US kids are ranked 47th out of 50 countries in fitness. Our kids are in bad shape and will not be able to compete in the future both physically and in leadership in companies. US kids are far behind in health, fitness, academic success, mental health, and other measure vs. most developed nations including China. Our kids are our future. They need our help.”
Other organizations or companies can step up and help create healthier, smarter, and happier children by supporting PHIT America. Contact Baugh at [email protected] for more information.
